The medical field uses an array of health care practices to prevent and treat illness, injuries, and medical conditions and promote the general health and well-being of others. Contemporary medicine involves applying health science, biomedical research and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and illness, usually through medication, therapy, or various procedures.

If you want to pursue a career in the medical field, there are a range of possibilities: doctors and nurses, medical billing and coding specialists, or medical transcriptionists and speech pathology employment. Due to the high competition in many of the subfields, job seekers may find that securing a medical job is challenging.

When trying to land that dream job there are a variety of helpful tips that increase your success:

Be Aware of Your Resume – Your resumé plays an essential part in your search for any type of job and it is necessary to customize your resumé according to the type of job to which you are applying. Make sure the skills listed in your resumé go along with the employer’s requirements.

Gain Experience – Experience is very important in the medical field and you should try to accumulate some type of work experience before applying for your dream job. Accept even low paying positions to get your foot in the door.

Practice Your Interview Skills – Before interviews, do homework on the interviewer such as his/her name and any information to develop rapport. Also, dress appropriately and practice answers to potential questions. Other important aspects are looking the interviewer in the eye, shaking hands firmly, and describing what you can do for the company.

Network – Establish contacts with as many people in the healthcare field as possible by volunteering, joining healthcare professional associations, and anything else that gets you in touch with other people in the field.

Parents of teenagers around the world have one thing in common, they all find it difficult to spend time with their growing offspring. While parents are trying to cling to their children, their teenagers are trying to break away. Readying themselves for ‘flying the coop’ so to say.

Take Up a Cruise Deal

The issue therefore arises, from the parents’ viewpoint anyway, of how to spend more time with your teens. The best way to start is to seek out the best cruise deals. At least you will be all on the same cruise together, and that has to be an improvement.

Have Evening Meals Together

The next obstacle to overcome is that, although you are all on the same boat, there will be other teenagers on the same vessel, and as we all know, they seem to sniff each other out from miles away. Although they will be spending a lot of time with their new friends, your evening meal together on board will carry with it many lasting memories.

Sleep In

This brings us to the next option. Teenagers need sleep, especially with all this new activity taking place. So you soon discover that nothing makes a teenager happier than sleeping late — as if you didn’t know that before. They probably will have organized room service before you even thought of it, therefore don’t bother getting dressed for breakfast; have it in your cabin together. This is your signal to relax, enjoy the pampering available and take full advantage of what Princess Cruises offers.

As you while away the time in your deck chair, you can contemplate the 3 best ways to spend time with your teens: Get a good cruise deal, arrange your meals together, and sleep in each day.

Being a teenager these days is rough. Confronted daily with peer pressure, teens have to make a lot of tough choices. They may or may not know where you stand on many of these issues. As a parent it is your job to be available.

Take time to talk:

Your young person needs to converse with you. Take the time to discuss some of the issues they are facing. This is how they will learn what and how you feel about certain things.

Take time to listen:

So often we as adults get caught up in our busy lives and we fail to hear what our teens are trying to tell us. Stop, slow down and listen to your young person. What sort of decisions are they facing? This is an oppurtunity for you to gently guide them into making a wise choice.

Take time to work:

Working together on a project is a great time for bonding. Whether you are cleaning out the garage or washing the dishes after dinner, this time spent together working toward a common purpose will build a better relationship. Use this time to better know and understand your teen. Be real and let them get to know you too.

Take time to play:

Take time to have fun together. Everyone needs a break now and then. As the saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Just as working together forms strong bonds, playing together forms strong memories.

Be an important part of your teen’s life and help them grow into a better person.

Going to high school is a major step in the lives of young people. To transition smoothly, they need to prepare both physically and emotionally. Here are some tips for getting your kids ready for high school.

Clothes Make the Teen

Going into high school means they are moving up into a different age bracket. Some of the clothes they may have previously worn may be considered too young by their peers. Sites such as Offers.com will have some great deals on back-to-school clothing. Buying more age proper clothes will help your almost-high school student feel more confident, which in turn will help her fit in with the other kids.

School Supplies

Obviously, students will need the usual kinds of school supplies that you have bought in earlier years. High school requires a few more items, depending on which classes are on your teen’s schedule. Make sure you contact the school to get a list of what you need to get. There is nothing more embarrassing for a teen than turning up to class and not having the required materials!

Spend the Day Together

Aside from spending time with your teen shopping for clothes and school supplies, organize a day of activities for just the two of you. You could go out to lunch to your son or daughter’s favorite restaurant or for a hike through a local forest. It will give your teen the opportunity to discuss any apprehensions he or she has and it will help bring you closer together.

High school is both exciting and nerve-racking for teenagers. These suggestions are stepping-stones to prepare your teen for high school.

You don’t have to be a professional writer to take advantage of strong writing skills. Whether you are in school and want to improve your college writing skills or you are in the working world and want to improve your business writing or communication skills, written well always comes in handy.

3 Tips for Better Writing Skills

Take a class. Writing classes are well-rounded resources for improving your writing. They can help with college admission essays, literature writing and pretty much all other types of writing as well. Visit your local college campus to see what types of writing courses they offer.

Use the Internet. The Internet can be an excellent source for information on improving your writing skills. Not only will you find articles and essays about how to write, but you will also find resources about grammar and spelling, sentence structure and proper formatting that will help you improve your form and other writing skills.

Take a seminar. Seminars are like short classes where a guest lecturer teaches a group of people how to accomplish a task or meet a goal. You should be able to find seminars for a variety of purposes, such as getting help with business writing skills, improving your thank you letter writing skills, resume writing skills and so on.

Any steps you take to improve your writing skills are likely to pay off in the long run. If you are serious about improving your writing skills, then explore all three of these resources so that you can improve your writing ability over time.

Looking for something fun to do with your teen? Quality time spent with your young adult is hard to arrange at times. So it is important to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

Here are a few ideas to get you started.

1. Go out for coffee. A trip to the local coffee shop for a cold/hot treat with a chance to just sit and chat is relaxing.

2. Take time to cook together. Make some homemade pizza or a taco salad with all the fixings. This time could also be a good learning experience for your young person.

3. Go shopping together. Be sure to shop for something that interests you both so one does not become bored quickly. No money? No problem, go window shopping. Pick out a room in the house that you would redecorate and plan together for fun.

4. Start a fun project together. Whether a wood-working project or scrap booking, find something that you both enjoy.

5. Go to the gym to exercise together. Break out the sweatpants, t-shirts and work up a sweat.

6. Read a book together. Find something that would be interesting to you both and read a chapter or more a day, taking turns reading.

Be sure at times to include your teen’s various friends. This will give you an oppurtunity to get to know them better.

1. Plan a picnic with games or pool time in the backyard.

2. Have a movie night with popcorn and pizza.

3. Have a karaoke night, laugh and have fun.

Take time to have fun with your young person. They grow up so fast.

Fall is fast approaching and with it the return of school. Your teen may already be planning their back to school wardrobe without your input. If you do not want to be left out of the choice making, now is the time to find out what is in and what is not for this year.

Wondering what to expect with the newest styles? The Fall fashion scene may feel like something from the past this year. Elements from the 50′s, 60′s and 70′s will show up in both male and female fashion trends.

Girls

Stretch pants are back, girls. Whether they are a favorite of yours or not the guys love them, so be ready to have a few on hand.

Miniskirts have been around for years. Pair them with some knee socks and you are the trendsetter.

accessories will lean toward long necklaces, beads and bangles. Leather and fur bags along with scarves will complete outfits.

Not to be outdone, there are many great retro styles for the guys too, as well as some new ones.

Leather jackets are back, not as a sign of rebellion, but as a fashion statement. The biker/punk look is totally in this year.

Neon has always seemed popular with the girls, now it has crossed over into the guys clothing. Neon jeans and shirts have made their way into the guys line.

Encourage your teen remain true to themselves. No need to follow the crowd, have them set their own fashion statements and be proud of who they are.
